The Legal Working Group (LWG) call provides a unique opportunity for legal professionals nationwide to collaborate, ask questions, share experiences on human trafficking cases, and expand their professional networks. Exclusively open to attorneys, DOJ Accredited Representatives, paralegals, legal assistants, and law students/graduates, the LWG call covers key topics such as immigration (with a focus on T visa practice), victims’ rights, law enforcement reporting, victim services and benefits, post-conviction relief, and survivor-centered lawyering. Attendees also receive the latest updates on anti-trafficking legal and policy matters.
Participation is strictly limited to individuals who are actively practicing law or providing legal support, such as attorneys, DOJ Accredited Representatives, law students working in legal clinics and/or having active legal internships, legal graduates, paralegals, and legal assistants.
To protect attorney-client privilege to the greatest extent possible, social workers, case managers, and general volunteers who are not assisting with legal cases cannot attend.

Starting February 5th, all Legal Working Group calls will transition to Zoom, and registration will be required to access the calendar invite and Zoom link. For security purposes, Zoom authentication is required to access the call. This means you must register using an email associated with an active Zoom account before completing registration.
Follow-Up Emails:
To receive follow-up emails and other important updates (e.g., changes to future calls), you must use the Nationbuilder form located at the bottom of this page. Be sure to check the “send me email updates” box. Missing this step will result in not receiving follow-up emails.
Pre-Submitted Questions
To have your question addressed during the Legal Working Group, please submit your inquiry via the Legal Working Group - Pre-Submitted Questions Form. We close submission for questions at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET the Tuesday before the call.
Submit questions only for the Wednesday call scheduled during the same week.
Limit submissions to one question per call to ensure fair coverage for all participants.
Due to high question volumes, not all submissions can be addressed during the call. If your question is not covered, you may receive an email asking you to submit it as an individual technical assistance request instead.
If you submit a question but do not attend the call, you will need to submit an individual technical assistance request to receive a response.
Duplicate Submissions:
Avoid submitting duplicate questions. If you’ve already submitted the same question via our individual technical assistance request form, please wait for the written response to help conserve resources.
Additional Guidelines
Law Students/Graduates, Paralegals, and Legal Assistants: You are welcome to join the calls to listen and learn. You may ask questions that do not require legal analysis. For questions requiring legal analysis, submit them as part of an individual technical assistance request, including information about your supervising attorney.
